The Actuarial Report requested by the Senate Committee on Organization on the provisions of Senate Amendment 1 to Senate Substitute Amendment 1 to January 2002 Special Session Assembly Bill 1, has been received. I am directing that in accordance with ss 13.50(6)(am) the report be printed as an appendix to the bill.

Joint Survey Committeee on Retirement Systems
SUBJECT: Report on Senate amendment 1 to Senate substitute amendment 1 January 2002 Special Session Assembly Bill 1.
As President of the Senate, I am directing that the Joint Survey Committee on Retirement Systems submit a report, in accordance with ss 13.50(6)(a), on Senate Amendment 1 to Senate Substitute Amendment 1 to January 2002 Special Session Assembly Bill 1, no later than 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 3, 2002.
An actuarial report has been received on the proposal and in accordance with ss 13.50 (6)(am) is being printed as an appendix to the bill. A copy of the report is attached for your information.
It is imperative that the Joint Survey Committee on Retirement Systems proceed immediately to prepare the report to allow for consideration by the Wisconsin State Senate as soon as possible. 13.50(6)(a) requires the committee to report on the probable costs involved, the actuarial soundness of the retirement system and the desirability of such proposal as a matter of public policy.
