AR52,1,2 1Relating to: requesting the U.S. Congress not to attempt to repeal or rescind any
2of the tax relief legislation passed by the U.S. Congress in May 2001.
AR52,1,43 Whereas, the Economic Growth and Tax Relief Reconciliation Act of 2001 (H.R.
41836) was passed with bipartisan support; and
AR52,1,65 Whereas, the bill granted much-needed tax relief for all working families in
6Wisconsin; and
AR52,1,97 Whereas, some members of the U.S. Congress are calling for the repeal or delay
8of parts of the tax relief bill, which would in effect raise taxes on Wisconsin's families;
9now, therefore, be it
AR52,1,14 10Resolved by the assembly, That the members of the Wisconsin assembly
11respectfully request the U.S. Congress to leave the tax cuts in the Economic Growth
12and Tax Relief Reconciliation Act of 2001 (H.R. 1836) intact, to allow the
13implementation or acceleration of the tax relief therein, and to add further tax relief
14measures if needed; and, be it further

1Resolved, That the assembly chief clerk shall transmit copies of this
2resolution to the speaker and clerk of the U.S. house of representatives and to each
3member of the congressional delegation from this state.
