1An Act to amend 29.335 of the statutes;
relating to: regulating the feeding of
2wild animals.
Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
Under current law, the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is required to
promulgate rules to regulate the recreational and supplemental feeding of wild
animals for purposes other than hunting. This bill prohibits DNR from
promulgating rules to prohibit or regulate the recreational and supplemental
feeding of wild animals for purposes other than hunting, except DNR may
promulgate such rules that apply in the chronic wasting disease eradication zone.
The bill voids any rules, except rules that apply in the chronic wasting disease
eradication zone, promulgated by DNR before the effective date of this bill to prohibit
or regulate the recreational and supplemental feeding of wild animals for purposes
other than hunting.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
