ENROLLED JOINT RESOLUTION
Relating to: honoring the career and public service of Joe Pavelski.
Whereas, Joe Pavelski, a Plover native, has given back to his community by organizing and running youth hockey camps as well as donating to and participating in various community fundraisers; and
Whereas, Joe plays for the San Jose Sharks and scored a goal in his first-ever NHL game; and
Whereas, Joe was a member of the 2010 Winter Olympics team, which won a silver medal; and
Whereas, Joe was a member of the University of Wisconsin team that won the 2006 NCAA Division I men's ice hockey championship; and
Whereas, Joe was the 2004 United States Hockey League Dave Tyler Junior Player of the Year; and
Whereas, Joe helped the Waterloo Black Hawks of the United States Hockey League win the Clark Cup in 2004; and
Whereas, Joe was a member of the Stevens Point Area Senior High school hockey team that won the Wisconsin state hockey championship in 2002; and
Whereas, Joe is a member of the 2014 Winter Olympics team; now, therefore, be it
Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the members of the Wisconsin legislature do hereby honor Joe Pavelski for his many accomplishments as a hockey player and as a community member, and wish him great success in the 2014 Winter Olympics.
