2015 Assembly Joint Resolution 68
ENROLLED JOINT RESOLUTION
Relating to: the life and public service of Dr. Ronald H. Lingren.
Whereas, former Representative Dr. Ronald H. Lingren was born on June 26, 1935, and died on June 1, 2015; and
Whereas, Dr. Lingren was born in Gowrie, Iowa, the son of a tenant farmer and grade school teacher, graduated from Iowa State University in 1960, and earned his Ph.D. from the University of Iowa in 1961; and
Whereas, Dr. Lingren spent many years as a psychologist and professor at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and received the title of Professor Emeritus while maintaining his own psychology practice; and
Whereas, Dr. Lingren served in the Army during the Korean War and with the Air Force Reserve for almost 40 years; and
Whereas, Ronald Lingren, a Democrat, served as a full-time legislator from 1975 to 1981 for the 97th Assembly District in Menomonee Falls; and
Whereas, Representative Lingren served on the Joint Committee on Finance for most of his career as a state legislator, as well as serving on committees related to education, health, and social services; and
Whereas, Dr. Lingren was a founding member of the National Association of School Psychologists, served as President of the Wisconsin Association of School Psychologists, and was a member of many organizations providing services to students; and
Whereas, Ronald was husband to Amy; father to Scott, Kristin, and Katie; and grandfather to Ava; now, therefore, be it
Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the members of the legislature salute Dr. Ronald H. Lingren's public service and mourn his passing; and, be it further
Resolved, That the assembly chief clerk shall provide a copy of this joint resolution to his wife Amy and his children Scott, Kristin, and Katie.
