This bill increases, by $2,000,000 each fiscal year, funding for a grant program
administered by the Department of Justice that provides grants to counties that
establish alternatives, for individuals charged with certain crimes, to prosecution
and incarceration.

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:

AB657,2,54 (1) Treatment and diversion programs. In the schedule under section 20.005
5(3) of the statutes for the appropriation to the department of justice under section
620.455 (2) (em) of the statutes, as affected by the acts of 2015, the dollar amount for
7fiscal year 2015-16 is increased by $2,000,000 to provide grants for counties that

1establish alternatives to prosecution and incarceration. In the schedule under
2section 20.005 (3) of the statutes for the appropriation to the department of justice
3under section 20.455 (2) (em) of the statutes, as affected by the acts of 2015, the dollar
4amount for fiscal year 2016-17 is increased by $2,000,000 to provide grants for
5counties that establish alternatives to prosecution and incarceration.
