2017 Assembly Joint Resolution 18
ENROLLED JOINT RESOLUTION
Relating to: honoring the life and public service of Representative Marcel Dandeneau.
Whereas, on February 9, 2017, Representative Marcel Dandeneau passed away at the age of 85; and
Whereas, Representative Marcel Dandeneau served in the Wisconsin State Assembly from 1975 until 1979, representing the people of the 63rd Assembly District; and
Whereas, following his elected service in the Wisconsin State Assembly, Representative Marcel Dandeneau served as the chief clerk of the Wisconsin State Assembly from 1979 until 1981; and
Whereas, prior to his service in the Wisconsin State Assembly, Representative Marcel Dandeneau served the United States and the State of Wisconsin by proudly enlisting in the United States Army Field Artillery from 1951 to 1954, rising to the rank of sergeant; and
Whereas, Representative Marcel Dandeneau was also very active in his community serving on the Caledonia Town Board and as the Caledonia town chair, and participating in the Racine Rotarians West and Kenosha Chamber of Commerce; and
Whereas, Representative Marcel Dandeneau was a dedicated public servant, and the people of Wisconsin mourn his passing; and
Whereas, his legacy will be remembered as a strong, faithful member of the Democratic Party, lifelong public servant to his community, and a teacher who influenced many lives; now, therefore, be it
Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the members of the Wisconsin State Legislature salute Marcel Dandeneau, acknowledge his tremendous record of public service, and mourn his passing; and
Be it further resolved, That the assembly chief clerk shall provide a copy of this joint resolution to Marcel's wife, Shirley, and to his children, Renee Thomas, Jeff Dandeneau, Linda Huber, Denise Rankin, Roy Servais, and Yvonne Erdman.
