2017 Senate Joint Resolution 100
ENROLLED JOINT RESOLUTION
Relating to: commemorating the life and public service of Trooper Anthony J. Borostowski of the Wisconsin State Patrol.
Whereas, Anthony J. Borostowski served the state of Wisconsin loyally and honorably as a State Trooper in the Wisconsin State Patrol since 2014 and was a member of the Wisconsin State Patrol's 60th Recruit Class; and
Whereas, his service as a State Trooper was preceded by his service in the Wisconsin Army National Guard since 2004 as a Staff Sergeant; and
Whereas, Anthony was deployed to Kuwait with the 2nd Battalion and 128th Infantry in 2005 as a combat medic; and
Whereas, Anthony was also deployed to Iraq as a trauma specialist in 2009 with the 108th Forward Support Company; and
Whereas, in 2012, Anthony was deployed once more as a combat medic to Afghanistan with the 1st Battalion, 121st Field Artillery; and
Whereas, during his devoted service as Staff Sergeant to the United States and the State of Wisconsin, Anthony earned several awards and decorations, such as the Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, Army Reserve Components Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Combat Action Badge, and Drill Sergeant Identification Badge; and
Whereas, Anthony served the State of Wisconsin nobly as a State Trooper, earning the Wisconsin State Patrol's Lifesaving Award in 2015 for saving a citizen's life though cardiopulmonary resuscitation; and
Whereas, Anthony's death in service marks a great loss to the community; and
Whereas, Anthony leaves behind a commendable legacy of dedicated service to the citizens of the State of Wisconsin; now, therefore, be it
Resolved by the senate, the assembly concurring, That the members of the Wisconsin State Legislature commemorate Anthony J. Borostowski's life and faithful service to the United States and the state of Wisconsin; and, be it further
Resolved, That the senate chief clerk shall provide a copy of this joint resolution to the family of Anthony J. Borostowski.
