1An Act relating to: career and technical education incentive grants and making
Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
Under current law, Department of Workforce Development may award an
incentive grant to a school district in which students successfully completed certain
industry-recognized certification programs approved by DWD. This bill increases
the appropriation by $3,500,000 in fiscal year 2019-20 and fiscal year 2020-21 to
fund the incentive grants.

printed as an appendix to this bill.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
In the schedule under s. 20.005 (3) for the appropriation to the department 5
of workforce development under s. 20.445 (1) (bz), the dollar amount for fiscal year 6
2019-20 is increased by $3,500,000 to fund career and technical education incentive 7
grants under s. 106.273 (3). In the schedule under s. 20.005 (3) for the appropriation
to the department of workforce development under s. 20.445 (1) (bz), the dollar 2
amount for fiscal year 2020-21 is increased by $3,500,000 to fund career and 3
technical education incentive grants under s. 106.273 (3).
This act takes effect on the day after publication, or on the 2nd day after 6
publication of the 2019 biennial budget act, whichever is later.
