AJR65,1,32 Whereas, the family is a major social institution that provides tremendous
3value to both its members and society as a whole; and
AJR65,1,64 Whereas, the family social unit may be forged by blood, marriage, foster care,
5or adoption, and may be both nuclear, encompassing parents and children, and
6extended, encompassing other relatives; and
AJR65,1,87 Whereas, around the world and all across Wisconsin, fathers have played and
8continue to play a crucial role in families; and
AJR65,1,119 Whereas, the role of father can be fulfilled by fathers, stepfathers,
10grandfathers, uncles, brothers, foster care and respite caretakers, and other
11guardians or role models; and
AJR65,1,1412 Whereas, states can support dads and facilitate their involvement in their
13children's lives, which increase a father's ability to meet the financial and emotional
14needs of their children; and

1Whereas, the number of families with single fathers are increasing in our state;
2and
AJR65,2,43 Whereas, fathers provide guidance, support, and encouragement to their
4families; and
AJR65,2,65 Whereas, Father's Day is celebrated in June across Wisconsin and the country;
6now, therefore, be it
AJR65,2,10 7Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That that the members
8of the legislature call upon the people of Wisconsin to observe June as Wisconsin
9Fatherhood Month with respect and admiration to fathers in our state; and, be it
10further
AJR65,2,13 11Resolved, That that the legislature calls upon the people of Wisconsin to
12express their respect, admiration, and gratitude to fathers everywhere; and, be it
13further
AJR65,2,15 14Resolved, That copies of this resolution be transmitted to the Governor of
15Wisconsin.
