NR 10.275(4)(c)1.c. c. Deer hunting may be allowed during archery deer hunting seasons except that hunting may only occur during the period beginning on November 1.

NR 10.275(4)(c)2. 2. `Factors to be considered.'
NR 10.275(4)(c)2.a.a. The primary purpose for the project.
NR 10.275(4)(c)2.b. b. User incompatibility and how this incompatibility may lead to the primary purpose of the project being significantly altered or curtailed.
NR 10.275(4)(c)2.c. c. The complexity, feasibility, practicality and cost effectiveness of separating activities by time and space or any other manner that might mitigate user incompatibility and/or reduce the need for enforcement.
NR 10.275(4)(c)2.d. d. The size, shape and location of the property as well as surrounding land uses, including the use of public lands immediately adjacent to the property which may or may not have been funded with stewardship funds. The use of adjacent lands shall not be used as the sole factor in making a determination.
NR 10.275(4)(c)2.e. e. The mix of activities at the location of the property that, to the extent practicable, will provide a quality experience for all compatible users and uses.
NR 10.275(4)(d) (d) After master planning. Upon approval of the master planning process under ch. NR 44, the natural resources board may:
NR 10.275(4)(d)1. 1. Close to hunting a property that was opened prior to adoption of a master plan, continue a closure that has already been established, or may authorize hunting pursuant to s. 29.089 (1m), Stats., on the property or a portion of the property under the seasons established in s. NR 10.01 after considering the factors in par. (c) and the impact of hunting on other users of the property.
NR 10.275(4)(d)2. 2. Establish one or more of the following conditions for hunting on a property:
NR 10.275(4)(d)2.a. a. Hunting may be limited to the period beginning on November 1 and continuing through March 31 for all species that have an open season.
NR 10.275(4)(d)2.b. b. Deer hunting may be allowed during seasons which occur beginning on the Saturday immediately preceding the Thanksgiving holiday and continuing through the close of the late archery season.
NR 10.275(4)(d)2.c. c. Hunting may be limited to the use of archery gear only during all of the seasons established in s. NR 10.01 except that it may only occur during the period beginning on November 1 and continuing through March 31.
NR 10.275(4)(d)2.d. d. Hunting may be limited to portions of a property by posted notice.
NR 10.275(4)(d)2.e. e. Hunting may be prohibited on the travelled portion of the trail.
NR 10.275(4)(d)2.f. f. Hunting may be prohibited on the travelled portion of the trail and within 50 feet of the center of the travelled portion.
NR 10.275(4)(d)2.g. g. Deer hunting may be allowed during the four day October firearm season established in s. NR 10.01 (3) (e) and (et).
NR 10.275(4)(d)2.h. h. Turkey hunting may be allowed during the first three spring turkey hunting periods in s. NR 10.01 (2) (f).
NR 10.275(4)(e) (e) When traversing another department property, portions of the Ice Age trail are subject to the hunting and trapping rules of that property unless otherwise posted.

NR 10.40 NR 10.40 Disabled hunters; special hunt authorizations.
NR 10.40(1)(1)Purpose. Pursuant to s. 29.053 (3), Stats., the natural resources board establishes this section to provide additional recreational hunting opportunities to the citizens of Wisconsin and to establish procedures for conducting special hunts that will encourage greater hunting participation by persons with physical and visual disabilities.
NR 10.40(2) (2)Definition. "Special gun deer hunt" means a department authorized local firearm season for deer conducted outside the regular gun deer hunting seasons established under s. NR 10.01 (3) (e).
NR 10.40(3) (3)Special gun deer hunts.
NR 10.40(3)(a)(a) Application requirements.
NR 10.40(3)(a)1.1. All applications to conduct a special gun deer hunt shall be on department forms and be submitted to the designated department office for the county within which the hunt will be conducted by June 1.
NR 10.40(3)(a)2. 2. All applications shall include:
NR 10.40(3)(a)2.a. a. The authorization of the host landowner to conduct a special gun deer hunt; and
NR 10.40(3)(a)2.b. b. A legal description of the lands on which the hunt is to be conducted.
NR 10.40(3)(a)3. 3. The applicant shall provide a final list of the names, addresses and Class A or C permit numbers of all participating hunters and the names of their designated assistants to the department by September 1.
NR 10.40 Note Note: Application forms may be obtained at department region and service center offices.
NR 10.40(3)(b) (b) Participation limits. No person may participate in more than one special gun deer hunt in the same calendar year and all participants must possess a valid gun deer license and either a valid Class A permit, valid Class B permit which authorizes hunting from a vehicle that is issued for more than one year, or valid Class C permit issued pursuant to s. 29.193 (2), Stats., that was issued on or after August 9, 1989.
NR 10.40(3)(c) (c) Participant selection. No person may be refused participation based on their age, race, religion, color, handicap, sex, physical condition, development disability, creed, sexual orientation or national origin.
NR 10.40(3)(d) (d) Dates. All special gun deer hunts shall be conducted during the 9 consecutive day period that begins on the first Saturday of October.
NR 10.40(3)(e) (e) Hunter participation limits. The department may not authorize a special gun deer hunt if the number of participating hunters is less than 3 or if the hunter density will exceed 2 per 40 acres of land described on the application.
NR 10.40(3)(f) (f) Rule compliance. Unless otherwise provided by the department, all disabled hunters and accompanying persons shall comply with all hunting rules and laws applicable to the regular gun deer season specified under s. NR 10.01 (3) (e). The bag limit is one deer of either sex per valid gun buck deer carcass tag and additional antlerless deer per current valid antlerless deer permit. Other hunters, hunting on the lands described on the application during the special gun deer hunt, shall comply with the blaze orange clothing requirements in s. 29.301 (2), Stats., except waterfowl hunters.
NR 10.40 Note Note: Firearms are limited to those approved for use during the regular gun deer season in that county as specified under s. NR 10.01 (3) (e) and blaze orange clothing meeting the requirements of s. 29.301 (2), Stats., must be worn by all disabled hunters and accompanying persons. Participants must use their regular gun deer season license, backtag and carcass tag.
NR 10.40(3)(g) (g) Authorizations to assistant. The designated assistant of the special gun deer hunt participant may use a firearm while retrieving a deer shot by a participant provided the assistant possesses a current valid deer hunting license.
NR 10.40(3)(i) (i) Posting requirement. The applicant shall post, at intervals not to exceed 100 yards, the boundary of all lands open to public hunting at least 7 days prior to the start of the hunt with a notice that indicates the dates on which the special gun deer hunt will be conducted on those lands and the dates and hours during which hunting by nonparticipants is prohibited. All such notices shall be removed by the applicant within 2 days of the close of the special gun deer hunt.
NR 10.40(3)(j) (j) Reports. If requested by the department, the applicant shall complete a special gun deer hunt report on forms supplied by the department.
NR 10.40(3)(k) (k) No fees. The landowner or applicant shall not charge any form of a fee to a person participating in a special gun deer hunt.
NR 10.40(4) (4)Special turkey hunts for disabled hunters.
