1995 WISCONSIN ACT 350
An Act to amend 341.13 (2); and to create 341.145 (1) (d), 341.145 (1) (e), 341.145 (1g) (c) and 341.145 (1g) (d) of the statutes; relating to: personalization of special license plates that grant certain parking privileges to the physically disabled.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do enact as follows:
350,1 Section 1 . 341.13 (2) of the statutes is amended to read:
341.13 (2) In addition to the matter specified in s. 341.12 (3), the registration plates for a vehicle registered on the basis of gross weight except a motor truck registered under s. 341.14 (6m) or 341.145 (1) (b), a dual purpose motor home, or a motor home, motor truck, farm truck or dual purpose farm truck registered under s. 341.14 (1), (1a), (1m), (1q), (1r) (a), (2) or (6r) or 341.145 (1) (a) or, (c), (d) or (e) or a motor truck or dual purpose farm truck registered under s. 341.14 (6) shall indicate the weight class into which the vehicle falls in a manner prescribed by the department. The gross weight which determines the registration fee for a motor truck registered under s. 341.14 (6m) or 341.145 (1) (b), a dual purpose motor home, or a motor home, motor truck, farm truck or dual purpose farm truck registered under s. 341.14 (1), (1a), (1m), (1q), (1r) (a), (2) or (6r) or 341.145 (1) (a) or, (c), (d) or (e) or a motor truck or dual purpose farm truck registered under s. 341.14 (6) shall be shown on its certificate of registration.
350,2 Section 2 . 341.145 (1) (d) of the statutes is created to read:
341.145 (1) (d) A registration plate of the same color and design as provided in s. 341.14 (1) for a vehicle specified in s. 341.14 (1), which displays a registration number composed of letters or numbers, or both, not exceeding 4 positions and not less than one position, requested by the applicant.
350,3 Section 3 . 341.145 (1) (e) of the statutes is created to read:
341.145 (1) (e) A registration plate of the same color and design as provided in s. 341.14 (1a) for a vehicle specified in s. 341.14 (1a), which displays a registration number composed of letters or numbers, or both, not exceeding 6 positions and not less than one position, requested by the applicant.
350,4 Section 4 . 341.145 (1g) (c) of the statutes is created to read:
341.145 (1g) (c) The department may issue personalized registration plates under sub. (1) (d) to a person who qualifies for special plates under s. 341.14 (1) or, if in lieu of special plates under s. 341.14 (1), s. 341.14 (1r).
350,5 Section 5 . 341.145 (1g) (d) of the statutes is created to read:
341.145 (1g) (d) The department may issue personalized registration plates under sub. (1) (e) to a person who qualifies for special plates under s. 341.14 (1a), (1m) or (1q) or, if in lieu of special plates under s. 341.14 (1a), s. 341.14 (1r).
350,6 Section 6 . Effective date.
(1) This act takes effect on January 1, 1998.
