1995 WISCONSIN ACT 397
An Act to create 30.725 of the statutes; relating to: placing and using boats and boating equipment, and placing boat trailers, with zebra mussels attached in the Lower St. Croix River.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do enact as follows:
397,1 Section 1 . 30.725 of the statutes is created to read:
30.725 Placement of boats, trailers and equipment; Lower St. Croix River. (1) No person may place or use a boat or boating equipment or place a boat trailer in the Lower St. Croix River if the person has reason to believe that the boat, boat trailer or boating equipment has zebra mussels attached.
(2) A law enforcement officer may order a person to do any of the following:
(a) Remove zebra mussels from a boat, boat trailer or boating equipment before placing it in the Lower St. Croix River.
(b) Remove or not place a boat, boat trailer or boating equipment in the Lower St. Croix River if the law enforcement officer has reason to believe that the boat, boat trailer or boating equipment has zebra mussels attached.
(3) No person may refuse to obey the order of a law enforcement officer who is acting under sub. (2).
