2005 WISCONSIN ACT 350
An Act to amend 230.17 (3) of the statutes; relating to: requiring criminal history background checks of applicants for certain state government positions.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do enact as follows:
350,1 Section 1. 230.17 (3) of the statutes is amended to read:
230.17 (3) When any position to be filled involves fiduciary responsibility, the appointing authority, where shall conduct a criminal history background check before offering employment to an applicant for the position. If otherwise permitted by law, the appointing authority may require the appointee to furnish bond or other security, and shall notify the administrator of the amount and other details thereof. Any surety company authorized to do business in this state shall be a sufficient security on any such bond.
