2017 WISCONSIN ACT 301
An Act relating to: modifying rules related to lighting requirements for bicycles and motor bicycles operating on certain trails designated by the Department of Natural Resources.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do enact as follows:
301,1 Section 1. NR 45.05 (3) (fm) of the administrative code is created to read:
NR 45.05 (3) (fm) Lighting requirements. No person may operate a bicycle or motor bicycle during hours of darkness as defined in s. 340.01 (23), Stats., on a trail designated under s. NR 51.73 (1) unless the person or the bicycle or motor bicycle is equipped with a lamp emitting a white light visible from a distance of at least 500 feet to the front of the person or the bicycle or motor bicycle and a lamp emitting a steady or flashing red light visible from a distance of 500 feet to the rear of the person or the bicycle or motor bicycle.
