2017 WISCONSIN ACT 347
An Act to amend 346.04 (2t) and 346.04 (3) of the statutes; relating to: obedience to vehicles operated by law enforcement officers.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do enact as follows:
347,1 Section 1. 346.04 (2t) of the statutes is amended to read:
346.04 (2t) No operator of a vehicle, after having received a visible or audible signal to stop his or her vehicle from a traffic officer, federal law enforcement officer, or marked or unmarked police vehicle that the operator knows or reasonably should know is being operated by a law enforcement officer, shall knowingly resist the traffic officer by failing to stop his or her vehicle as promptly as safety reasonably permits.
347,2 Section 2. 346.04 (3) of the statutes is amended to read:
346.04 (3) No operator of a vehicle, after having received a visual or audible signal from a traffic officer, federal law enforcement officer, or marked or unmarked police vehicle that the operator knows or reasonably should know is being operated by a law enforcement officer, shall knowingly flee or attempt to elude any traffic officer by willful or wanton disregard of such signal so as to interfere with or endanger the operation of the police vehicle, or the traffic officer or , the law enforcement officer, other vehicles, or pedestrians, nor shall the operator increase the speed of the operator's vehicle or extinguish the lights of the vehicle in an attempt to elude or flee.
