AB487-AA2,1,1 At the locations indicated, amend the bill as follows:

AB487-AA2,1,2 1. Page 3, line 6: after that line insert:

AB487-AA2,1,3 " Section 1m. 441.11 of the statutes is created to read:

AB487-AA2,1,4 441.11 Nurse anesthetists. (1) In this section:

AB487-AA2,1,5 (a) "Anesthesiologist" has the meaning given in s. 448.015 (1b).

AB487-AA2,1,6 (b) "Nurse anesthetist" has the meaning given in s. 655.001 (9).

AB487-AA2,1,7 (2) The provisions of s. 448.04 (1) (g) do not apply to a nurse anesthetist.

AB487-AA2,1,11 (3) A nurse who is in a training program to become a nurse anesthetist and who is assisting an anesthesiologist as part of that training program must be supervised by an anesthesiologist who is supervising no more than one other nurse in such a training program.".

AB487-AA2,1,12 2. Page 9, line 14: after "program to" insert "only".

AB487-AA2,2,5 3. Page 9, line 15: delete "anesthesia provider" and substitute "anesthesiologist, an anesthesiology fellow, an anesthesiology resident who has completed his or her first year of residency, or an anesthesiologist assistant, but in no case may an anesthesiologist concurrently supervise, either directly or as a delegated act, more than 2 students in training to be an anesthesiologist assistant".

AB487-AA2,2,8 4. Page 9, line 23: delete the material beginning with "the promotion" and ending with "role" on line 24 and substitute "promote the safe and competent practice".
