AB7-ASA2-AA48,1,11 At the locations indicated, amend the substitute amendment as follows:
AB7-ASA2-AA48,1,2 21. Page 2, line 18: after "activities;" insert "compensation of election officials;".
AB7-ASA2-AA48,1,3 32. Page 58, line 3: after that line insert:
AB7-ASA2-AA48,1,4 4" Section 92m. 7.03 (1) (a) of the statutes is amended to read:
AB7-ASA2-AA48,2,55 7.03 (1) (a) Except as authorized under this paragraph, a reasonable daily
6compensation of not less than $10 per hour shall be paid to each inspector, voting
7machine custodian, automatic tabulating equipment technician, member of a board
8of canvassers, messenger, and tabulator who is employed and performing duties
9under chs. 5 to 12. Daily compensation Compensation of not less than $10 per hour
10shall also be provided to inspectors and inspector trainees for attendance at training
11programs conducted by the board and municipal clerks under ss. 7.31 and 7.315.
12Alternatively, such election officials and trainees may be paid by the hour at a

1proportionate rate for each hour actually worked.
Any election official or trainee may
2choose to volunteer his or her services by filing with the municipal clerk of the
3municipality in which he or she serves a written declination to accept compensation.
4The volunteer status of the election official or trainee remains effective until the
5official or trainee files a written revocation with the municipal clerk.".
