SB15-ASA1,1,3 1An Act to amend 16.964 (16) (b) (intro.), 349.027 (1) and 349.027 (2) of the
2statutes; relating to: collection and analysis of motor vehicle traffic stop
3information.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
SB15-ASA1, s. 1 4Section 1. 16.964 (16) (b) (intro.) of the statutes is amended to read:
SB15-ASA1,1,75 16.964 (16) (b) (intro.) The office shall promulgate rules, for law enforcement
6agencies electing to collect traffic stop information as provided in s. 349.027 (1),

7relating to all of the following:

SB15-ASA1,2,59 349.027 (1) Information collection required. For each motor vehicle stop
10made on or after January 1, 2011, by a law enforcement officer, the person in charge
11of the law enforcement agency employing the law enforcement officer shall may

1cause to be obtained all information relating to the traffic stop that is required to be
2collected under
specified in rules promulgated under s. 16.964 (16) (b) 1. The person
3in charge of the law enforcement agency has the authority and discretion to
4determine whether the agency will collect traffic stop information under this
5subsection.

10(1) to the office of justice assistance using the process, and in the format, prescribed
11by the rules promulgated under s. 16.964 (16) (b) 2.
