SB228-AA1,1,11 At the locations indicated, amend the bill as follows:
SB228-AA1,1,2 21. Page 3, line 24: after "unloaded" insert "and encased".
SB228-AA1,1,3 32. Page 4, line 1: delete lines 1 and 2 and substitute:
SB228-AA1,1,5 4"2. The bow or crossbow is unstrung or is enclosed in a carrying case and does
5not have an arrow nocked
.".
SB228-AA1,1,6 63. Page 4, line 4: delete that line and substitute:
SB228-AA1,1,7 7"167.31 (2) (b) 3. The crossbow is enclosed in a carrying case and is not cocked.".
SB228-AA1,1,8 84. Page 4, line 18: after that line insert:
SB228-AA1,1,9 9" Section 15g. 167.31 (4) (bu) of the statutes is created to read:
SB228-AA1,1,1310 167.31 (4) (bu) The requirement under sub. (2) (b) that a firearm, crossbow, or
11bow be encased does not apply if the firearm, crossbow, or bow is being transported
12in a vehicle that is traveling between hunting sites and the individual who is
13transporting the firearm, crossbow, or bow is actively involved in hunting.

1Section 15m. 167.31 (4) (bv) of the statutes is created to read:
SB228-AA1,2,72 167.31 (4) (bv) The requirement under sub. (2) (b) that a firearm, crossbow, or
3bow be encased does not apply if the firearm, crossbow, or bow is being transported
4in a vehicle from a store or other location where the firearm, crossbow, or bow has just
5been purchased to the residence of the purchaser and if the seller of the firearm,
6crossbow, or bow fails to provide a case or other packaging that results in no part of
7the firearm, crossbow, or bow being exposed.".
