SENATE AMENDMENT 1, TO 2011 SENATE BILL 271

SB271-SA1,1,1 At the locations indicated, amend the bill as follows:

SB271-SA1,1,3 1. Page 2, line 2: delete the material beginning with "If" and ending with "the elector." on line 3.

SB271-SA1,1,4 2. Page 2, line 5: after that line insert:

SB271-SA1,1,5 " Section 2. 6.866 of the statutes is created to read:

SB271-SA1,1,10 6.866 Return of absentee ballots. An elector who applies for an absentee ballot for an election may return the ballot to the municipal clerk who issued the ballot no later than 5 p.m. or the close of business, whichever is later, on the Friday preceding the election. The clerk shall then issue a new absentee ballot to the elector if the elector makes a timely request and the elector remains qualified.".
