SB301-SA2,1,11 At the locations indicated, amend the bill as follows:
SB301-SA2,1,3 21. Page 8, line 8: delete "(dm) Beginning" and substitute "(dm) 1. Subject to
3subds. 2. and 3., beginning".
SB301-SA2,1,4 42. Page 8, line 16: after that line insert:
SB301-SA2,1,10 5"2. If the formula of one-sixth reductions under subd. 1. would require a
6municipality to reduce the amount of room tax revenue that it retains by more than
75 percent each year, the municipality may limit the amount of reduction to 5 percent
8each year, even if capping the reduction at 5 percent each year results in the
9municipality taking more than 6 years to reach the 30 percent maximum retainage
10percentage specified in subd. 1.
SB301-SA2,2,711 3. Notwithstanding the provisions of subds. 1. and 2., if a municipality is a
12party to a contract that is in effect on January 1, 2013, which requires the
13municipality to expend room tax revenues for purposes other than tourism

1promotion and tourism development such that the municipality would not be in
2compliance with the 30 percent maximum retainage percentage specified in subd. 1.,
3the municipality may continue to honor the terms of the contract until the contract
4expires, is renewed, or is modified. Upon the expiration, renewal, or modification of
5the contract, the municipality must comply with the 30 percent maximum retainage
6percentage specified in subd. 1. starting with the the first day of the second calendar
7quarter that begins after the contract expires, is renewed, or is modified.".
