ASSEMBLY AMENDMENT 1, TO ASSEMBLY BILL 581

AB581-AA1,1,1 At the locations indicated, amend the bill as follows:

AB581-AA1,1,2 1. Page 3, line 1: before that line insert:

AB581-AA1,1,3 " Section 5m. 118.191 (2m) of the statutes is created to read:

AB581-AA1,1,7 118.191 (2m) An initial teaching license issued under sub. (2) authorizes an individual to teach only in the school district controlled by the school board that determined the curriculum the individual agreed to complete in order to qualify for the initial teaching license.".

AB581-AA1,5p Section 5p. 118.191 (3) of the statutes, as created by 2015 Wisconsin Act 55, is amended to read:

AB581-AA1,1,13 118.191 (3) An initial teaching license issued under sub. (2) is valid for 3 years. An initial teaching license issued under sub. (2) is void if the license holder ceases to be employed as a teacher in the school district in which the license holder is authorized to teach under sub. (2m).".

AB581-AA1,2,2 2. Page 3, line 3: delete "Upon expiration of an initial teaching" and substitute "Upon the expiration of the 3-year term of an initial teaching".

AB581-AA1,2,5 3. Page 3, line 8: after "curriculum." insert "The department shall indicate on a professional teaching license issued under this subsection that the license was obtained under the experience-based licensure program under this section.".
