ASSEMBLY AMENDMENT 1, TO ASSEMBLY BILL 64

AB64-AA1,1,1 At the locations indicated, amend the bill as follows:

AB64-AA1,1,3 1. Page 1, line 6: after "math" insert "; and allowing American Indian tribes or bands and tribal colleges to authorize independent charter schools".

AB64-AA1,1,4 2. Page 2, line 1: before that line insert:

AB64-AA1,1,6 " Section 1c. 118.40 (2r) (a) of the statutes is renumbered 118.40 (2r) (a) (intro.) and amended to read:

AB64-AA1,1,7 118.40 (2r) (a) (intro.) In this subsection, " instructional:

AB64-AA1,1,9 1. "Instructional staff" has the meaning given in the rules promulgated by the department under s. 121.02 (1) (a) 2.

AB64-AA1,1e Section 1e. 118.40 (2r) (a) 2. of the statutes is created to read:

AB64-AA1,1,12 118.40 (2r) (a) 2. "Tribal college" means an accredited college operated or controlled by a federally-recognized American Indian tribe or band in this state.".

AB64-AA1,1,13 3. Page 2, line 2: after that line insert:

AB64-AA1,2,1 " Section 1m. 118.40 (2r) (b) 1. e. and f. of the statutes are created to read:

AB64-AA1,2,2 118.40 (2r) (b) 1. e. A tribal college.

AB64-AA1,2,4 f. One or more federally-recognized American Indian tribes or bands in this state.".
