SENATE AMENDMENT 1, TO ASSEMBLY BILL 790

AB790-SA1,1,1 At the locations indicated, amend the bill as follows:

AB790-SA1,1,3 1. Page 1, line 2: after "teams" insert ", funding for dementia care specialists in aging and disability resource centers,".

AB790-SA1,1,4 2. Page 2, line 7: before that line insert:

AB790-SA1,1,10 "(3) Existing dementia care specialists. In fiscal years beginning after fiscal year 2016-17, the department of health services shall maintain funding to aging and disability resource centers for the number of aging and disability resource center dementia care specialists authorized under 2015 Wisconsin Act 55, plus the additional aging and disability resource center positions authorized under Section 4 (2) and (3) of this act.

AB790-SA1,2,3 (4) Dementia care specialist report. By July 1, 2017, the department of health services shall submit to the members of the joint committee on finance a report on the FTE position authorized for fiscal year 2016-17 for the training of dementia care specialists in aging and disability resource centers, including educating employers about issues related to dementia in their employees and family members of employees. The report shall include information about staff and training activities.

AB790-SA1,2,10 (5) Dementia care specialist base adjustment. Notwithstanding section 16.42 (1) (e) of the statutes, in submitting information for purposes of the 2017-19 biennial budget bill, in addition to reflecting the fiscal changes under Section 4 (2) of this act, the department of health services shall submit information increasing the adjusted base funding level in the appropriation under section 20.435 (7) (b) of the statutes by $960,000 to continue funding for dementia care specialists in aging and disability resource centers.".

AB790-SA1,2,12 3. Page 2, line 12: after that line, before the material inserted by assembly amendment 1, insert:

AB790-SA1,2,18 "(2) Dementia care specialist funding. In the schedule under section 20.005 (3) of the statutes for the appropriation to the department of health services under section 20.435 (7) (b) of the statutes, as affected by the acts of 2015, the dollar amount for fiscal year 2016-17 is increased by $320,000 to increase funding for dementia care specialists in aging and disability resource centers in counties with a population under 150,000.

AB790-SA1,3,2 (3) Training; educating employers. In the schedule under section 20.005 (3) of the statutes for the appropriation to the department of health services under section 20.435 (4) (a) of the statutes, as affected by the acts of 2015, the dollar amount for fiscal year 2016-17 is increased by $93,000 to increase the authorized FTE positions for the department by 1.0 GPR position on July 1, 2016, for the training of dementia care specialists in aging and disability resource centers, including educating employers about issues related to dementia in their employees and family members of employees.".
