SB158-SA1,1,11 At the locations indicated, amend the bill as follows:
SB158-SA1,1,3 21. Page 11, line 4: before "Violating" insert "In this subdivision, "mobile
3telephone" has the meaning given in 49 CFR 390.5.".
SB158-SA1,1,4 42. Page 11, line 7: after "vehicle" insert ", as defined in 49 CFR 390.5,".
SB158-SA1,1,6 53. Page 11, line 7: delete "cellular or other wireless" and substitute "hand-held
6mobile".
SB158-SA1,1,7 74. Page 11, line 21: delete lines 21 to 23 and substitute:
SB158-SA1,1,8 8"346.89 (4) (b) 1. In this paragraph:
SB158-SA1,1,99 a. "Commercial motor vehicle" has the meaning given in 49 CFR 390.5.
SB158-SA1,1,1210 b. "Drive" means the exercise of physical control over the speed and direction
11of a motor vehicle while it is in motion or is temporarily stationary because of traffic,
12a traffic control device, or other momentary delay.
SB158-SA1,1,1313 c. "Mobile telephone" has the meaning given in 49 CFR 390.5.

12. Subject to sub. (3), except to report an emergency to law enforcement officials
2or other emergency service providers, no person may drive any commercial motor
3vehicle while using a hand-held mobile telephone in any the following manners:
SB158-SA1,2,54 a. Using at least one hand to hold a mobile telephone or any connected
5accessory to conduct a voice communication.
SB158-SA1,2,76 b. Dialing or answering a mobile telephone by pressing more than a single
7button.
SB158-SA1,2,98 c. Reaching for a mobile telephone in a manner that requires the driver to
9maneuver so that he or she is no longer in a seated driving position.".
