4“(3m)." on line 7 and substitute “The department may approve a pilot program in
5Chippewa, Monroe, Pepin, and Taylor counties that allows a county department to
6contract with one or more county departments to fulfill the county department's
7duties under this subsection and sub. (3m). The pilot program under this paragraph
8shall have an initial period of not more than 3 years after the effective date of this
9paragraph .... [LRB inserts date]. No later than 6 months before the end of the initial
10period, the county departments participating in the pilot program shall submit a
11report on the pilot program to the department and to the appropriate standing
12committees of the legislature in accordance with s. 13.172 (3). If, based on the report,

1purpose, the department may approve extension of the pilot program beyond the
