AB532-SA2,1,5 4 Section 52d. 196.595 (2) (b) (intro.), 1. and 2. of the statutes are amended to
5read:
AB532-SA2,1,86 196.595 (2) (b) (intro.) Produces a demonstrated, direct and substantial benefit
7for ratepayers. Advertising which produces a direct and substantial benefit for
8ratepayers is limited to advertising which does any of the following:
AB532-SA2,1,99 1. Demonstrates energy or water conservation methods ;.
AB532-SA2,1,1010 2. Conveys safety information on the use of energy; .
AB532-SA2,52h 11Section 52h. 196.595 (2) (b) 2g. and 2r. of the statutes are created to read:

1196.595 (2) (b) 2g. Conveys health or safety information related to a water
2system or the use of water, including information on preventing frozen water
3laterals.
AB532-SA2,2,54 2r. Identifies the public utility on public utility property or the location of public
5utility property.
AB532-SA2,52p 6Section 52p. 196.595 (2) (b) 3., 4. and 5. of the statutes are amended to read:
AB532-SA2,2,77 196.595 (2) (b) 3. Demonstrates methods of reducing ratepayer costs;.

AB532-SA2,2,99 5. Is required by law, administrative rule, or permit.

AB532-SA2,2,1411 196.595 (2m) Notwithstanding sub. (2), a public utility may charge its
12ratepayers for expenditures for reasonable direct communication to ratepayers that
13will be directly and substantially impacted by ongoing or future water public utility
14operations or construction.”.
