AB636-AA1,1,11 At the locations indicated, amend the bill as follows:
AB636-AA1,1,2 21. Page 1, line 7: after “county" insert “and city".
AB636-AA1,1,4 32. Page 3, line 6: after “officer" insert “appointed by the county board or the
4chairperson of the county board".
AB636-AA1,1,8 53. Page 3, line 7: after “office." insert “This paragraph does not apply to an
6officer who is appointed to the classified civil service of the county or who serves at
7the pleasure of an appointing authority other than the county board or chairperson
8of the county board.".
AB636-AA1,1,9 94. Page 3, line 7: after that line insert:
AB636-AA1,1,10 10 Section 7g. 17.12 (1) (c) of the statutes is repealed and recreated to read:
AB636-AA1,1,1211 17.12 (1) (c) Appointed officers. An appointed officer may be removed in any
12of the following manners:
AB636-AA1,2,2
11. An officer appointed by the common council, by the common council, at
2pleasure.
AB636-AA1,2,53 2. An officer appointed by an officer or body other than the common council,
4whether or not the appointment was confirmed by the common council, in any of the
5following manners:
AB636-AA1,2,66 a. By the appointing officer or body, at pleasure.
AB636-AA1,2,77 b. By the common council, for cause.
AB636-AA1,7j 8Section 7j. 17.12 (1) (d) of the statutes is amended to read:
AB636-AA1,2,129 17.12 (1) (d) Votes required. Removals by the common council may be made only
10by an affirmative vote of three-fourths of all the members thereof, and
by any other
11body other than the common council and consisting of 3 or more members, may only
12be made
by an affirmative vote of two-thirds of all the members thereof.”.
