The bill eliminates the requirement that, if a child with a disability is attending public school in a nonresident school district under the open enrollment program, the child's individualized education program team must include a person designated by the child's resident school board.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do enact as follows:
Section 1. 115.78 (1m) (h) of the statutes is amended to read:
115.78 (1m) (h) If the child is attending a public school in a nonresident school district under s. 118.50, 118.51, or 121.84 (1) (a) or (4), at least one person designated by the school board of the child's school district of residence who has knowledge or special expertise about the child.
