ENROLLED JOINT RESOLUTION
Relating to: commending Arthur L. Srb on the occasion of his retirement from the Capitol press corps.
Whereas, Arthur L. Srb began a career in journalism in 1954 and practiced fruitfully the art and science of his craft for over 40 years; and
Whereas, Art Srb has done his part to promote the success of representative government through faithful service as the public's eyes and ears; and
Whereas, Art Srb distinguished himself as a reporter and the bureau chief for the Associated Press in Madison during the past 28 years; and
Whereas, Art Srb embodies the journalistic ideal of the detached observer and honest broker of information; and
Whereas, through 4 decades of unceasing deadline pressure, Art Srb met and mastered the challenges of a stressful profession with competence, humility, personal grace and calm; and
Whereas, Art Srb marked his retirement from the Associated Press and the Capitol press corps on December 22, 1995; now, therefore, be it
Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the members of the legislature of the state of Wisconsin extend to Arthur L. Srb their best wishes for his continued success and prosperity, the fellowship of his many friends and a long, happy and comfortable retirement; and, be it further
Resolved, That the assembly chief clerk shall provide a copy of this joint resolution to Art Srb.
