ENROLLED JOINT RESOLUTION
Relating to: commending John H. Schroeder.
Whereas, John H. Schroeder served as the 5th chancellor of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee; and
Whereas, UW-Milwaukee achieved national recognition as a Carnegie Research II institution under his leadership; and
Whereas, Chancellor Schroeder was in the forefront of legislative activity, advocating on behalf of the university and working closely with legislators to assure state support of UW-Milwaukee and the entire University of Wisconsin System; and
Whereas, UW-Milwaukee has enriched the undergraduate experience by expanding and strengthening its Honors Program and developing new initiatives such as Freshman Scholars; now, therefore, be it
Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the members of the legislature of the state of Wisconsin commend John Schroeder for his fulfillment of the Wisconsin Idea at UW-Milwaukee and his commitment to the students and community residents who are benefactors of Wisconsin's fine tradition of quality public higher education; and, be if further
Resolved, That the assembly chief clerk shall provide a copy of this joint resolution to Chancellor Schroeder.
