ENROLLED JOINT RESOLUTION
Relating to: proclaiming "Law Enforcement Memorial Day".
Whereas, law enforcement officials throughout the state of Wisconsin place themselves in imminent danger on a daily basis to protect and serve the citizens of this great state; and
Whereas, this service to the public often requires law enforcement officers to give more consideration to the safety of the public than to themselves; and
Whereas, we honor the men and women who serve this state as law enforcement officers and acknowledge and appreciate the difficult nature of their responsibilities; and
Whereas, we thank, express our appreciation and pay tribute to our dedicated law enforcement officers who have accepted the risks implicit in their profession and the critical nature of the duties and services they render; and
Whereas, it is important and appropriate that we pause to remember those who have fallen in the line of duty; now, therefore, be it
Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the members of the legislature of the state of Wisconsin proclaim May 15 "Law Enforcement Memorial Day".
