Assembly Resolution 3
ENGROSSED RESOLUTION
Relating to: the life and public service of Stanley Lato.
Whereas, Stanley Lato was born in Thorp, Wisconsin, on November 2, 1924, and died in Stanley, Wisconsin, on April 10, 2002; and
Whereas, Stanley Lato served in the United States Navy during World War II; and
Whereas, he operated a dairy farm near Gilman for many years; and
Whereas, he demonstrated his civic-mindedness by being active in local government, serving as town supervisor, as town chair, and as a member of the county board; and
Whereas, he was elected to the Wisconsin assembly and served in the 1975 and 1977 sessions; and
Whereas, he served on the Agriculture, Commerce and Consumer Affairs, Health and Social Services, and Tourism committees, and was chairperson of the Retail Food Production Committee; and
Whereas, while in the assembly, he successfully authored legislation creating an official identifying seal and associated quality standards for Wisconsin dairy products; now, therefore, be it
Resolved by the assembly, That the Wisconsin assembly salutes the fine service of its former colleague, Stanley Lato, and mourns his passing; and, be it further
Resolved, That the assembly chief clerk shall provide copies of this resolution to Stanley Lato's wife of over 50 years, Elaine; and to his children, Wayne Lato, Diane Taylor, Laura Logan, Jessica Lato, and Katherine Glicklich.
