2001 Assembly Joint Resolution 69
ENROLLED JOINT RESOLUTION
Relating to: honoring and commending the devoted public service of David A. Stella.
Whereas, David A. Stella earned his bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and has earned the designation of certified employee benefits specialist from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans; and
Whereas, Mr. Stella has served the department of employee trust funds for 15 years and since 1995 as administrator of the division of retirement services; and
Whereas, Mr. Stella has been responsible for directing the operation of several retirement and other employee benefit plans covering over 465,000 Wisconsin retirement system participants and over $63 billion in assets; and
Whereas, Mr. Stella has been responsible for administering retirement, deferred compensation (457), tax sheltered annuity (403(b)) and group life insurance plans offered to state and local government employees in Wisconsin; and
Whereas, Mr. Stella has been an effective representative of the state of Wisconsin as an active member of the national association of state retirement administrators, developing a national reputation as an expert in retirement policy; and
Whereas, Mr. Stella has over 30 years experience in a variety of positions in Wisconsin state government including 22 years of management experience; and
Whereas, Mr. Stella has provided invaluable knowledge and experience to the joint survey committee on retirement systems and its members and to the legislature and the department of employee trust funds; now, therefore, be it
Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the members of the Wisconsin legislature honor and commend David A. Stella for his devoted public service and his contributions to the Wisconsin Retirement System and wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors; and, be it further
Resolved, That the assembly chief clerk shall provide copies of this joint resolution to David A. Stella, to his wife, Kathleen, and to his daughters, Rebecca and Laura.
