ENGROSSED RESOLUTION
Relating to: the life, military service, and sacrifice of Marc Ian Nieto, of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin.
Whereas, Marc Ian Nieto is the son of Mrs. Sharon Priepke, of the state of Wisconsin, and graduated from Goodrich High School, Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, in 1994; and
Whereas, Marc Nieto joined the United States Navy as a Seaman Recruit, was promoted 5 times, and ultimately earned the title of Petty Officer 2nd Class, Engineman, serving on the USS Cole (DDG 67); and
Whereas, Marc Nieto served honorably as a U.S. Navy sailor aboard the USS Cole (DDG 67), and was 2 weeks short of finishing his 6-year Navy tour of duty, when suicidal terrorists attacked and bombed out the side of the USS Cole, on October 12, 2000, in Yemen; and
Whereas, Marc Nieto will be remembered not only for his outstanding military service, but also for his concern for others, his integrity, his sense of humor, and his generosity to friends and family; now, therefore, be it
Resolved by the assembly, That the Wisconsin assembly gratefully commends Marc Ian Nieto, who in the line of military duty paid the ultimate sacrifice for defending the principles of the United States of America; and, be it further
Resolved, That the assembly chief clerk shall provide a copy of this resolution to Marc Ian Nieto's mother, Sharon Priepke.
