ENROLLED JOINT RESOLUTION
Relating to: the life and public service of Wilmer H. Struebing.
Whereas, Wilmer H. Struebing was born on April 2, 1910, in Brillion, Wisconsin, and died on January 7, 2003, in New Holstein; and
Whereas, Mr. Struebing was educated in the Brillion public schools; and
Whereas, he married Henrietta Vaupel on February 10, 1937; and
Whereas, Mr. Struebing served on the Brillion School Board, the Brillion Town Board, and the Calumet County Board; and
Whereas, Mr. Struebing was first elected to the Wisconsin assembly in 1962, representing Calumet County, and served in the 1963 and 1965 sessions; and
Whereas, during his tenure in the assembly, he served on the Committee on Education and the Committee on State Affairs; and
Whereas, Mr. Struebing served as assembly chief clerk from May 16, 1967, through the 1969 session, and he subsequently served as assistant senate chief clerk; and
Whereas, after he retired from the Wisconsin legislature, Mr. Struebing worked for the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture (now the Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection); now, therefore, be it
Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the members of the Wisconsin legislature commend the devoted public service that Wilmer H. Struebing contributed to this state and his community, express their sorrow at his death, and extend their condolences to his family and friends; and, be it further
Resolved, That the assembly chief clerk shall provide copies of this joint resolution to Mr. Struebing's wife, Henrietta of Brillion, to his daughter, Mary Lee Hoffman of Oshkosh, and to his sons, George and Jim of Brillion.
