ENROLLED JOINT RESOLUTION
Relating to: the life of Army Private First Class Rachel Bosveld.
Whereas, Army Private First Class Rachel Bosveld was born on November 7, 1983, in Neenah, Wisconsin, and died on Sunday, October 26, 2003, in Abu Ghraib, Iraq, during a mortar attack on an Iraqi police station; and
Whereas, PFC Bosveld served with distinction with the 527th Military Police Company based in Giessen, Germany; and
Whereas, PFC Bosveld graduated from Waupun High School in 2002 after transferring from Oshkosh West High School; and
Whereas, PFC Bosveld enjoyed art activities, loved to play the violin, and participated in numerous school plays including playing Frieda in Waupun High School's "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown"; and
Whereas, PFC Bosveld chose to follow the family tradition of serving her country in the military; and
Whereas, PFC Bosveld made the ultimate sacrifice for her country while advancing the cause of freedom for the Iraqi people; and
Whereas, PFC Bosveld will always be remembered for her loyalty and duty and will never be forgotten; now, therefore, be it
Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the members of the Wisconsin legislature commend the life of Army Private First Class Rachel Bosveld, express their sorrow at her death, and extend their condolences to her family and friends; and, be it further
Resolved, That the assembly chief clerk shall provide copies of this joint resolution to PFC Bosveld's mother, Mary Bosveld of Oshkosh; to her father and stepmother, Marvin and Julie Bosveld of Waupun; to her brother, Craig Bosveld of Antigo; and to her maternal grandmother, Marion Swonger of Sun Prairie.
