2003 Senate Joint Resolution 44
ENROLLED JOINT RESOLUTION
Relating to: the achievement of a Silver Star by Tech. Sergeant William Markham for his service to our country in Afghanistan.
Whereas, Tech. Sergeant William Markham was honored with the Silver Star for his brave service to the United States in Afghanistan; and
Whereas, Tech. Sergeant William Markham was the first airman in Afghanistan, as well as the sole special operations member behind enemy lines for many weeks; and
Whereas, Tech. Sergeant William Markham courageously flew through enemy territory mapping out any dangers for the allied forces as targets and making the air strikes in Afghanistan a success; and
Whereas, the Silver Star is awarded to those who show great gallantry in action against a United States enemy and is one of the top honors given; and
Whereas, Tech. Sergeant William Markham has clearly and with distinction shown great gallantry in Afghanistan and has earned not only the honor of the Silver Star but also the grateful thanks and respect of the citizens of Wisconsin, this senate, and the entire Unites States of America, which he defended; now, therefore, be it
Resolved by the senate, the assembly concurring, That the members of the Wisconsin legislature commend Tech. Sergeant William Markham for his gallantry in action and express their appreciation of all that he has given to Wisconsin and his country; and, be it further
Resolved, That the senate chief clerk shall provide a copy of this joint resolution to Tech. Sergeant William Markham and his family.
