ENROLLED JOINT RESOLUTION
Relating to: the life of Green Lake County Police Officer Bruce A. Williams.
Whereas, Officer Bruce A. Williams was born on August 8, 1965, in Sparta, Wisconsin, and died on Sunday, October 19, 2003, in Green Lake, Wisconsin, in the line of duty; and
Whereas, Officer Williams served with distinction and honor during his 14 years as an officer with the Green Lake County Sheriff's Department; and
Whereas, Officer Williams graduated from Berlin High School in 1984, where he played on the high school football team and the high school basketball team and also played on the Kiwanis and Legion baseball teams; and
Whereas, Officer Williams graduated from the University of Wisconsin- Oshkosh with a bachelor's degree in criminal justice in 1989; and
Whereas, Officer Williams made the ultimate sacrifice for the people of Green Lake County by giving his life for their protection; and
Whereas, Officer Williams will always be remembered for being a strong and caring man, a loving and devoted husband, a compassionate and involved father, a thoughtful son and brother, a wonderful friend, and always a remarkable deputy; now, therefore, be it
Resolved by the senate, the assembly concurring, That the members of the Wisconsin legislature commend the life of Green Lake County Police Officer Bruce A. Williams, express their sorrow at his death, and extend their condolences to his family and friends; and, be it further
Resolved, That the senate chief clerk shall provide copies of this joint resolution to Officer Williams' wife, Valerie Williams of Berlin; to his daughters, Brianna, Kiersten, and Sydney Williams all of Berlin; to his mother and father, Norman and Barbara Williams of Berlin; to his brother, Michael Williams of Fort Atkinson; to his sisters, Nancy Williams of Berlin and Michelle Probst of Madison; and to his grandmother, Adeline Jones of Sparta.
