ENROLLED JOINT RESOLUTION
Relating to: commending the West Salem High School football team.
Whereas, the West Salem High School football team earned its first WIAA Division 4 State Championship after defeating Kettle Moraine Lutheran at Camp Randall Stadium on November 15, 2007, by a margin of 38 points; and
Whereas, the young men of the West Salem High School football team held their final opponent to 14 points while scoring an impressive 52 of their own, through remarkable offensive execution and solid defensive talent; and
Whereas, the 2007 Panthers maintained a 13-1 record this season, demonstrating, through their performance both on and off of the football field, admirable sportsmanship and commitment to the game of football, as well as formidable athletic ability in all aspects of the game, which culminated in the state championship; and
Whereas, the renowned coaching staff, under head coach Wayne Sackett, as well as the entire West Salem community, once again have proven their tremendous dedication to the game of football and to the talented players on the team, through their unconditional support and guidance, and have undoubtedly earned this state championship title; now, therefore, be it
Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the members of the Wisconsin legislature congratulate the West Salem High School football team and coach Wayne Sackett on winning the 2007 WIAA Division 4 State Championship and wish them continued success.
