2007 Senate Joint Resolution 15
ENROLLED JOINT RESOLUTION
Relating to: the life and military service of United States Marine Corps Lance Corporal Jesse Tillery.
Whereas, Jesse was born on May 18, 1987, in Vesper, Wisconsin, and died on December 2, 2006, of injuries sustained from enemy action in Al Anbar Province, Iraq; and
Whereas, Jesse has a sister Joelle, a brother Jared who is currently on active duty in Iraq in the Army, and a brother James who has completed two tours of duty in Iraq in the Army and is scheduled to return for a third term next summer; and
Whereas, Jesse was a 2005 graduate of Lincoln High School in Wisconsin Rapids and enlisted in the Marine Corps in 2005; and
Whereas, Jesse served with distinction in the 2nd Assault Amphibian Battalion, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force out of Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, where he was an assault amphibian crewman and was in his first tour of duty in Iraq; and
Whereas, Jesse's family and fellow citizens are very proud of him and know that he died doing what he wanted to do: serving the nation and fighting for freedom; and
Whereas, Jesse embodied the Marine Corps' core values of honor, courage, and commitment and he will be sorely missed; now, therefore, be it
Resolved by the senate, the assembly concurring, That the legislature of the state of Wisconsin commemorates the remarkable life of Jesse Tillery and extends its deepest sympathies to his family, friends, and colleagues; and, be it further
Resolved, That the senate chief clerk shall transmit a copy of this joint resolution to Jesse's parents, Martin and Kathy Tillery, his sister, Joelle Mayers, and his brothers, Jared and James Tillery.
