2007 Senate Joint Resolution 18
ENROLLED JOINT RESOLUTION
Relating to: the life and military service of United States Army Private First Class Evan Bixler.
Whereas, U.S. Army Private First Class Evan Bixler was born on June 8, 1985, in Racine, Wisconsin, and died on December 24, 2006, of injuries sustained from enemy indirect fire during security operations in Hit, Iraq; and
Whereas, Private First Class Bixler was a loving and devoted son to Kevin and Lisa Bixler of Racine; and
Whereas, Private First Class Bixler graduated from Racine Washington Park High School in 2003; and
Whereas, Private First Class Bixler served with distinction and honor with the 1st Battalion, 6th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, United States Army; and
Whereas, Private First Class Bixler joined the U.S. Army in April 2006 and graduated from basic training in August before shipping out to Baumholder, Germany; and
Whereas, Private First Class Bixler made the ultimate sacrifice while proudly defending his country and advancing the cause of freedom for the Iraqi people; and
Whereas, Private First Class Bixler will always be remembered for his bravery, courage, and love of family and friends; now, therefore, be it
Resolved by the senate, the assembly concurring, That the legislature of the state of Wisconsin commends the devoted service that Army Private First Class Evan Bixler gave unselfishly to his country, his state, and his community; expresses its sorrow at his death; and extends its deepest sympathy to his family and friends; and, be it further
Resolved, That the senate chief clerk shall transmit a copy of this joint resolution to Private First Class Bixler's parents, Kevin E. and Lisa M. Bixler, his sister, Amy T. Bixler, and his grandparents, John F. and Carol A. Neufeld, all of Racine.
