2009 Assembly Resolution 5
ENGROSSED RESOLUTION
Relating to: the life and public service of Debbie Loiselle and Stuart Seffern.
Whereas, Debbie Loiselle and her partner of more than 30 years, Stuart Seffern, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, January 1, 2009, in a tragic airplane accident in Joliet, Illinois; and
Whereas, Debbie and Stuart were actively involved in state and local government. Stuart served on numerous boards and committees and was representative to the Libertarian Party of Wisconsin. Debbie worked for the Wisconsin Assembly for almost 30 years, where she enjoyed working behind the scenes helping the Assembly operate smoothly. Debbie will be remembered for her kind nature, perpetual smile, witty sense of humor, and her love of life, family, and friends; and
Whereas, Debbie and Stuart also shared a strong commitment to the
revitalization of their Burr Oaks Neighborhood. Stuart served as association president, and for the last eight years he and Debbie joined fellow residents on weekly walks to demonstrate the neighborhood's dedication to the betterment of their community. Both Debbie and Stuart enjoyed serving others in their community and standing up for what they believed was right for their neighborhood and for the city of Madison; and
Whereas, Debbie and Stuart enjoyed spending their free time together, attending Badger home and bowl games, flying to visit family in New York, hosting pool parties, taking summer motorcycle trips, and sharing a love of physical fitness. Debbie greatly enjoyed all kinds of exercising and was an avid all-season bicyclist. Stuart sailed, skied, and golfed; and
Whereas, both Debbie and Stuart were loyal friends who without hesitation took the time to listen, provided support to those in need, offered counsel when asked, and most importantly, had the courage to embrace life and live it fully; now, therefore, be it
Resolved by the assembly, That the assembly of the state of Wisconsin hereby recognizes the numerous contributions made by Debbie Loiselle and Stuart Seffern to the Madison community and offers its sincere sympathies to the families of Debbie and Stuart; and, be it further
Resolved, That the assembly chief clerk shall provide a copy of this joint resolution to Debbie's sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Richard Johnson; to her nieces and their husbands, Sandra and James Rohweder, Marcie and Aaron Bindl, and Rhonda and Ricky Fradette; and to Stuart's mother and stepfather, Billee and Carl Ludders; to his sister Leslie Riley Seffern; and to his brother and sister-in-law John Jay and Liane Seffern.
