2011 Senate Joint Resolution 58
ENROLLED JOINT RESOLUTION
Relating to: commending Laura Kaeppeler on winning the Miss America pageant.
Whereas, Laura Kaeppeler, on the 14th day of January 2012, became the 91st winner of the Miss America pageant; and
  Whereas, Laura Kaeppeler, a lifelong resident of Kenosha, graduated from Kenosha St. Joseph High School and Carthage College, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in music with an emphasis in vocal performance; and
  Whereas, Laura Kaeppeler worked her way through high school and college at a favorite Kenosha drive-in, The Spot; and
  Whereas, Laura Kaeppeler, during her studies, traveled to Europe for a collegiate choir tour, sang at Carnegie Hall, and was a member of the Milwaukee Symphony Chorus; and
  Whereas, Laura Kaeppeler, after her graduation, was the owner of a private music studio, instructor of voice and piano, and plans to pursue an advanced degree; and
Whereas, Laura Kaeppeler earned the crown of Miss Kenosha in 2010, and made Kenosha proud in winning the Miss Wisconsin pageant in 2011; and
Whereas, Laura Kaeppeler won the talent competition portion of the Miss America pageant with her brilliant rendition of the classical aria by Luigi Arditi entitled, Il Bacio; and
  Whereas, Laura Kaeppeler founded Circles of Support to mentor children and families of the incarcerated in response to her own personal experiences and serves as an inspiration to children across the state and country; now, therefore, be it
Resolved by the senate, the assembly concurring, That the legislature congratulates Laura Kaeppeler for becoming Miss America 2012 and representing Kenosha and for her continued commitment and dedication to the lives of children.
