2013 Assembly Joint Resolution 24
ENROLLED JOINT RESOLUTION
Relating to: expressing prayers and condolences to the families, friends of the victims, and the injured from the bombings at the Boston Marathon and praising the first responders who rushed to their aid.
Whereas, all Wisconsin's legislators come together to express our sincere sympathies to the families and friends of the victims and those injured from the terrorist bombings at the Boston Marathon; and
Whereas, as a state we have seen tragedy firsthand, and lived through it; and
Whereas, whether the evil occurs at a beauty salon, a temple, or at a marathon, we sympathize with those injured and those left behind; and
Whereas, as the nation learns more about the events and the people behind the horrific crimes in Boston, we also will learn stories of heroes who went above and beyond to help their fellow citizens; and
Whereas, the first responders, fire fighters, police, and medical volunteers heroically rushed into carnage to aid their fellow citizens; and
Whereas, it is important to celebrate them, amid the stories of loss and pain; and
Whereas, Wisconsinites come together today to honor the fallen, pray for the victims, and praise the everyday heroes who work tirelessly to keep us safe; and
Whereas, we recognize that on days like these, evil sometimes attacks, but good will always triumph; and
Whereas, the good in us will prevail over evil, and it always will; now, therefore, be it
Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the 101st Wisconsin state legislature extends prayers and condolences to those impacted by the tragic bombings in Boston and offers toward the state of Massachusetts any assistance that our citizens can offer.
