The Honorable, The Senate:
It has been a great joy and pleasure for me to represent the people of western Wisconsin in the State Senate since April of 1984. I have enjoyed my work on behalf of the people of my district, and in particular working with my Senate colleagues in Madison.
I have decided not to seek re-election this year in order to devote more time to my family and to pursue a career in the private sector in the Coon Valley area. With our legislative session now concluded, I have decided that those pursuits could best be accomplished if I were to resign my Senate seat.
Accordingly, the purpose of this letter is to submit my irrevocable resignation as the Wisconsin State Senator from the 32nd District. This resignation is to take effect at the end of the business day today, May 25, 2000.
Sincerely,
BriaN D. Rude
