Senator Jauch honored Cobb as an individual who more than any other, influenced his passion for equal treatment for all citizens. Growing up in a suburb of Chicago, at an early age the Senator learned the power of prejudice, but gained great appreciation for diversity and the strength of character through Darrell and his family. The Senator noted that even though he and Darrell had been out of touch for 40 years, they learned that both of them shared mutual stories of respect with their families. His friendship helped chart a course for Senator Jauch to work for equal treatment for all citizens, and it is important to adjourn in his honor for the power and influence Darrell has had on the Senator's life.
Senator Holperin, with unanimous consent, asked that when the Senate adjourn, it do so in honor of two Rhinelander High School students, who interned this past summer on a marketing project for the Explorer's Guide Maritime Training program in Rhinelander: Samantha Martinez and Simon Martinez. This program found itself in a win/win situation when these young, energetic individuals worked under the mentoring leadership integrating new electronic marketing approaches to assist in generating more business in order to stay competitive.
