AB128,1,2 1An Act to amend 348.05 (2) (L) of the statutes; relating to: vehicles
2transporting Christmas trees in loads that exceed vehicle width limitations.
Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
Under current law, vehicles transporting loads of hay in bales may exceed the
general vehicle width limitation of 8 feet 6 inches, but only if the total outside width
of any load does not exceed a single traffic lane width. This provision does not apply
to vehicles on the national system of interstate and defense highways.
This bill specifies that vehicles transporting loads of Christmas trees from
September 15 to December 15 from the point of harvesting or staging to a Christmas
tree yard or commercial shipping point may also exceed the general vehicle width
limitation of 8 feet 6 inches, subject to the same limitations as vehicles transporting
loads of hay in bales.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
AB128, s. 1 3Section 1. 348.05 (2) (L) of the statutes is amended to read:
