AB310,1,3 1An Act to amend 346.55 (4) of the statutes; relating to: prohibiting an owner
2or lessee of public or private property from immobilizing a motor vehicle with
3an immobilization device.
Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
Under current law, an owner or lessee of public or private property may limit,
restrict or prohibit parking on such property. This bill provides that no motor vehicle
in violation of the limitation, restriction or prohibition on parking may be
immobilized with an immobilization device that prevents the vehicle from being
operated.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
AB310, s. 1 4Section 1. 346.55 (4) of the statutes is amended to read:
AB310,2,25 346.55 (4) Owners or lessees of public or private property may permit parking
6by certain persons and limit, restrict or prohibit parking as to other persons if the
7owner or lessee posts a sign on the property indicating for whom parking is
8permitted, limited, restricted or prohibited. No person may leave or park any motor
9vehicle on public or private property contrary to a sign posted thereon. No motor

1vehicle in violation of any limitation, restriction or prohibition on parking may be
2immobilized with an immobilization device.
